We provide weekly service in MN, ND, SD, IA, and are continuing to expand our footprint! 1949

Chamberlain Oil Company Inc. was founded in 1949 by Ellard Chamberlain Sr. and Ellard Chamberlain Jr. The company originated as a bulk jobbership selling gasoline and fuel to farm accounts in the Clontarf, MN area. The first bulk plant was located in Benson, MN.

1953

In 1953, the service station, which has been converted to our present office, was built.

1961

In 1961, the bulk plant was moved to its present location in Clontarf, MN. Over the years Chamberlain Oil has grown and added many new services.

1972

In 1972, our weekly delivery route was started. In the same year our first transport for delivering wholesale gasoline and fuel was purchased.

1982

In 1982, we added bulk oil to our product line.

1985

In 1985, our indoor bulk warehouse was built.

1987

In 1987, our branch office in St. Cloud, MN was opened.

1991

In 1991, additional warehouse space was added to Clontarf as well as 3 loading dock stalls.

1994

In 1994, our St. Cloud facility expanded its warehouse capacity adding new storage space and dock facilities.

2001

In 2001, we expanded our bulk plant adding additional storage as well as rail unloading and loading capabilities.

2010

In 2010, our office in St. Cloud expanded to the adjacent lot adding additional storage and office space.

2012

In 2012, we added Diesel Exhaust Fluid to our product line offering.

2014

In 2014, we again expanded our warehouses in both St. Cloud and Clontarf.

2018

In 2018, our new branch in Sioux Falls, SD was opened. We also sold our gasoline and fuels division and further expanded our lubricants and DEF division by acquiring a competitor.

2021

In 2021, our Sioux Falls location was relocated to our brand new warehouse in Dell Rapids, SD.

2025

In 2025, we built a brand new truck shop adjacent to our existing St. Cloud, MN facility.

Current Day

Today, Chamberlain Oil has over 50 full time employees. We service a 5 state regional area with a complete line of bulk and packaged lubricants and ancillary products.
Our customers include retail, agricultural, industrial, construction, automotive, and more! Our mission today is the same as it was in 1949: to provide the best products and service possible for our customers.
